Rescue Build
Porter Davis Rescue & Completion
Post-collapse rescue: VMIA insurance navigation, permit reactivation, defect remediation. Multiple families got their homes.
Melbourne residential construction — custom homes, developments, and rescue builds.
When you build with us, you build with Morris. Not a project manager you’ve never met.
The Process
Most build problems don’t come from bad tradespeople. They come from no one owning the whole picture. A gap between the architect and the site. A handoff that loses the detail. A supervisor who wasn’t there for the brief.
At Built for Life, Morris runs the project. Not a project manager you’ve never met — Morris. He’s on site, he’s contactable, and he’s accountable from brief to handover.
We set out costs clearly before anything is signed. If there’s a variation, we discuss it before it happens — not invoice it after. We send progress updates before you have to ask.
We’ve been building in Melbourne’s inner north-east for twenty years. We’ve completed every project we’ve started. That’s not a marketing line — it’s a record.
Selected Work
Rescue Build
Post-collapse rescue: VMIA insurance navigation, permit reactivation, defect remediation. Multiple families got their homes.
Development
Four detached 3-bedroom villa units. Buyers selected their own fixtures and finishes. Delivered in 12 months.
Townhouse Development
1.5-metre level difference between dwellings turned from engineering challenge into architectural feature. Eco-conscious design throughout.
Renovation
Extensive damage from previous occupants required structural remediation before renovation could begin. Contemporary result in 3 months.
Morris Terzo has spent twenty years on construction sites, in boardrooms, and in the middle of projects other builders walked away from. He studied civil engineering at Victoria University. He managed regional operations for Boral. He ran his own development company before picking up a builder’s licence in 2009.
That background matters. When Morris assesses a brief, he’s thinking about what the structure will do in fifty years, not just what it looks like on handover. When a cost issue comes up on site, he’s already seen it from the developer’s side of the table.
When Porter Davis collapsed and a Macleod family was left with a stalled build, incomplete roofing, and insurance hurdles going nowhere — Morris stepped in. He navigated the VMIA claim, reactivated the permit, re-engaged the trades, and delivered the finished home by Christmas.
That’s the standard.
